why does photography cost what it does?

Great photography is an investment. Photography is a profession that can take years of experience, learning and technical skill to even begin to master. It’s not just pressing a button, but also the hours of knowledge to learn how to use gear, advanced editing programs and techniques, not to mention learning how to properly pose, light and work with clients! Photographers are known to invest up to half their income just on keeping their gear up to date! Remember, when you’re paying a photographer ‘x’ amount for a session, you’re not just paying for them to show up and shoot, you’re also paying for the hours of work that will follow each session and the quality of the images they produce.

How do i rent the studio?

Yay! We’re so happy that you’d like to rent out the studio! You can view more about the space on the Galai Studio website. Now until February 14th the boudoir setting is available for rental.

How far in advanced do i need to book?

This depends on the session and my availability! Feel free to shoot me an email at caleighmayer@gmail.com to inquire about my availability!

can i have all the files unedited?

“Someone probably told you to ask for the RAW files and that you HAD to make sure to get them from your photographer. This is the same as buying a novel and expecting the book to contain all of the authors rough drafts, edits, outlines, character outlines, etc. It is very possible that it took a good handful of shots – possibly even more – to know that I got the shot I was going for. Ensuring that you as the client sees only the best images makes selecting your final images for your album, prints, etc. much easier than seeing all of my “outtakes.”

You hired me not only to provide a product – the finished product that is – but also to provide a process and experience. Without the experience and the process, there would be no finished images. Part of the process is editing out all the bad images and processing the others as only a professional photographer can. I believe in quality over quantity. It’s less about how many photos you get but more about making sure that the story and experience of your [photoshoot] was told in a beautiful, professional way.” - LD Photography
